hi, I'm ashley.

I can remember very clearly when I first took an interest in beauty.  I was in junior high school and my best friend got a curling iron as a gift from a relative. I was a tomboy with frizzy hair that I didn't have a clue how to take care of,  but when we ran that thing through my hair I was transformed (at least in my eyes). I was in awe that this simple tool could completely change how I felt about my appearance. This fascination stayed with me and after high school I turned my bathroom into a make shift salon and would invite my friends over to color & highlight their hair. It took a long time and many a desk job though to move me towards turning my passion into a profession.

In 2009, I packed my bags and headed to NYC to pursuit of a career in the beauty industry. I knew that New York had some of the best schools and salons the world had to offer. I attended Carsten Aveda Institute in Union Square for cosmetology. Over the next few years I worked in high end salons around the city honing my skills coloring and styling hair. In 2012, I attended the prestigious MakeUp Designory in Soho to expand my skill set. After graduation I began working with bridal industry giant MG Hair & Makeup. I quickly became one of their lead artists and over the next 5 years with them I did hair & makeup for hundreds of weddings all over the tri-state area and beyond. I was the key artist for several shoots for bridal blog extraordinaires Aisle Society and led our team for many other events for big names like The Knot. My last two years with the company I became a educator/trainer and taught advanced classes in bridal makeup (including airbrushed and mature makeup), as well as hair (including updos, advanced curling/waving techniques, blowouts, advanced braiding, and retro styling).

I absolutely LOVE working in an industry that is constantly evolving and I strive to keep growing my skills and knowledge of trends along side it.  I am so fortunate to have a profession that allows me to meet so many amazing and unique new people and be a part of some of the most important days of their lives. It is the most incredible feeling to be able to use my skills to make someone feel like their most beautiful self, and perhaps even to inspire that confidence I once got from just a simple curling iron.
